Barnegat Bay's Premier Sprint

Sunday, June 20, 2010

Lavallette, NJ

6:50 am- first wave

Field Limit 250

We are doing a little something for the Zayko family this year at LavaMan.  I get many letters from entrants who are dedicating their race to a cause or honor.  It is a privilege for me to be in a position to receive such open and moving letters from people whom I have never met.  This year, we will contribute $500 to the Zayko family's Mesothelioma Mission cause in honor of Lance Ruble.

I have learned how many people harness the power of triathlon, and use it to make it even a better day.  Adding love and emotion is such a powerful launch vehicle for an athlete, and its' presence can deliver or add to a great triathlon race experience for all those participating in the mornings event.

Thanks to the Zayko's for sharing.  You may make a donation if you like through their website above, or online here at registration for LavaMan.  To read their email to Jersey Shore MultiSport that started it all, click here.

LavaMan's point to point swim is the fastest tri dip in Ocean/Monmouth County

Race overview from CW:  LavaMan.  The first ever official JS Multi triathlon.  Last year was a classic, with brutal rain making 2009's race a classic story for 160 people to tell.   I still get email about that day, and I know many are returning for 2010 to see what this day will bring.

For 2010, we'll find out just how fast this race really is.  A blazing in water start/point to point swim, A bike course at 5 feet sea level, and a single loop run that gives you two chances to survey the field before a grand Lavallette finish setting.

June 21, 2009 was an epic day for the debut of LavaMan and JS Multisport.

Special fun for that "veteran" Dad...Bring some old gear, show the carbon kids how it's done, and get a prize. More details to come.
